Dear fellow pilots,

on December 17th, there will be a controller exam at Berlin Approach (EDBB_APP).

It is the fourth (!) attempt of the candidate Markus Meisdrock simply because at the last two attempts, there wasn’t enough traffic.

I understand that the main problem is inbound traffic, so I would like to encourage everyone who has time to fly to Berlin on 17/12/07 so that he can reach it between 1930Z and 2100Z to help Markus so that he doesn’t have to try a fifth time only because there is not enough traffic!

Since Berlin has three major airports (EDDB: Berlin Schönefeld, EDDI: Berlin Tempelhof, EDDT: Berlin Tegel), you shouldn’t have too much waiting time on the ground in case you would like to turn around and fly back.

In Berlin Schönefeld (EDDB), the north runway (07L/25R) has been closed and demolished in order to make way for a new motorway. It will therefore be possible for all interested pilots (no matter to which airport they fly) to request a NDB/DME approach followed by a low pass for the last time.

To make things interesting for people with little time budgets, the following possibilities present themselves:

A TWR preCPT will take place the same evening in

• Frankfurt (EDDF) and
the usual weekly days will take place in
• Düsseldorf (EDDL) and
• Nürnberg (EDDN).
