Der 1st Austrian DC-3 Dakota Club wurde 1994 gegründet, um alle mit der Luftfahrt verbundenen Personen zusammen zu führen.
Das Interesse gilt vor allem den historischen Flugzeugen, insbesondere den Propellerflugzeugen. Vorrangiges Ziel war es, eines
der bedeutendsten Flugzeuge, nämlich eine Douglas DC-3 zu besitzen.

Bereits am 1. September 1995 konnte der Kaufvertrag für die Douglas DC-3 (c/n 13079) unterfertigt werden. In den darauf folgenden
Jahren wurde die Douglas DC-3 durch die Clubmitglieder mit Hilfe der Unterstützung von diversen Sponsoren komplett restauriert und
steht am Salzburg Airport als nicht mehr flugfähiges Ausstellungsstück für diverse Veranstaltungen zur Verfügung. Mittlerweile stützt
sich der Verein auf ca. 150 Mitglieder. Monatlich finden Vereinsveranstaltungen statt, wobei das gesellige Beisammensein nicht zu kurz
kommt.
Anlässlich der diversen weltweiten Clubreisen konnte ein intensiver Kontakt zu vielen Besitzern von historischen Flugzeugen aufgebaut
werden. Heute ist der „1st Austrian DC-3 Dakota Club“ bereits ein fixer Bestandteil in der Welt der Historical Props.

The 1st Austrian DC-3 Dakota Club was founded in 1994 to lead all individuals associated with the aviation together. The interests are
especially historical aircrafts, especially the propeller aircrafts. The primary objective was, to own a Douglas DC-3, one of the most
significant aircrafts. On the 1st of September 1995 the purchase contract for the Douglas DC-3 (with the c/n 13079) was done. In the
following years, the Douglas DC-3 was completely restored by the club members with the support of various sponsors and stands at
Salzburg Airport as no longer airworthy exhibit for various events. Meanwhile, the club is based on about 150 members. Monthly club
events take place, the socializing is not neglected.
At the various global club journeys an intensive contact with many owners of historic aircraft could be built. Today is the “1st Austrian
DC-3 Dakota Club” already an integral part in the world of Historical Props.
